Baseball Stadium in Progress

Shown is the new Ozark Area Youth Organization baseball stadium which will be home to Ozark junior and senior high baseball and all OAYO teams from ages 13 to 18.  A grand opening is planned in May with representatives from Major League Baseball to be in attendance.  The estimated cost of the project is just over $400,000 according to OAYO Executive Director, Penni Peppas-Burns.

Franklin County JP dies Friday

Justice of the Peace Tom Tusing, 65, of Charleston died Friday of a massive heart attack.

He was the longest-tenured member of the Franklin County Quorum Court at the current time, beginning his 27th year as representative of District 8.

Burglary suspected arrested at Ft. Smith

A male subject in custody at Fort Smith has reportedly been linked to four recent residential burglaries in North Franklin County, and some of the stolen property has been located.

Franklin County will have a warrant of arrest with a hold placed on the unidentified man, Sherriff Reed Haynes said Tuesday.  The individual is currently being held at the Sebastian County Detention Center on drug and burglary charges, according to Deputy Steve Scott.
